The TRADIS Chair
The Canada Research Chair in Sexually and Gender Diverse Individuals (SGD) and their Psychoactive Substance Use Trajectories (TRADIS Chair – Trajectories, Diversity, Substances) seeks to understand the interrelations between these trajectories and the various oppressive factors that SGD individuals face. Understanding these interrelations allows us to develop and evaluate the implementation and effects of innovative interventions based on an anti-oppressive and harm reduction approach, including online interventions. The community-based research approach facilitates being firmly grounded in practice and responding to the needs of the field.
Objectives of the Chair
- Design evidence-based anti-oppressive intervention practices for widespread implementation and evaluation.
- Accompany and support, through research, public and community services working with these individuals.
Research Topics
Topic 1 aims to understand the interrelations between the psychoactive substance use trajectories of SGD people and the various oppressive factors they face (in all their complexity and diversity).
Topic 2 aims to develop and evaluate targeted interventions based on an anti-oppressive and harm reduction approach (including online interventions), amongst SGD people who use psychoactive substances.
