Olivier Ferlatte (he)

Olivier Ferlatte is an assistant professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at the School of Public Health of the Université de Montréal and a regular researcher at the Public Health Research Centre (CReSP). His research focuses on the relationship between stigma, substance use and mental health in the 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities. He is a recognized expert on syndemics and the intersectional approach, and his research findings have influenced policies and program development aimed at improving the health of 2S/LGBTQIA+ individuals. His scientific work is based on several methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, artistic method, mixed methods) and is motivated by a particular interest in community engagement and the participation of people affected by health inequalities as research partners. Olivier holds a Junior 1 bursary award from the Fond de recherche du Québec – Santé.
