Julie Christine Cotton (she)

Julie Christine Cotton is a psychoeducator and professor in the Addiction Studies and Research Programs at the Université de Sherbrooke. She has expertise in the cultural adaptation of programs and clinical practices. Using participatory and inclusive methods, her current work focuses on minority stress and substance use patterns of LGBTQIA2S+ people in Quebec, as well as the development of culturally sensitive resources by, with and for these individuals. Professor Cotton also coordinates the Comité de concertation en santé trans de l’Estrie, which aims to improve coordination in developing services dedicated to trans and non-binary people, as well as those questioning their identity who live in the Estrie region of Quebec.
