Ida Giugnatico

Ida Giugnatico holds a first PhD in Political Philosophy from the University of Calabria (Italy, 2017) and a second PhD in Applied Human Sciences from the Université de Montréal (2020) dedicated to the construction of a critical epistemology for interdisciplinary research for action or intervention purposes. Her research interests include the social consequences of the transformations in epistemological discourse that have shaped the evolution of science in the 20th century, particularly the relationship between the conceptualization of knowledge and so-called vulnerable populations. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the UNESCO Chair in the Study of the Philosophical Foundations of Justice and Democracy (UQAM), since September 2020, she has been a research coordinator in the School of Social Work of UQAM, coordinating the study Towards adapted services for sexually and gender-diverse people with problematic methamphetamine use and other related substances: an approach to support their development in relation to their sexual orientation and gender identity.

In November 2021, she was a member of the delegation of Quebec researchers at the World Philosophy Day at UNESCO-Paris. She was also editor of Volume 5 of Chantiers de l’intervention en sciences humaines and guest editor of a special volume of the international journal TrajEthos, devoted to interdisciplinarity.
